| Another hotel worth considering but not highly recommended.
Mai Hotel
Address: 4A-4B Thi Sach Street Ben Nghe Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
A spanking new 2-star hotel with basic amenities. Well situated in the heart of the city, Mai hotel is just mins away from popular eateries as well as happening nightspots (including the reknown Apocalypes Club).
I suppose this will be a reasonable choice for many but for 35USD a night, there are better selections around. |

| Just a quick note for members who are visiting girlfriends in HCMC.
Many (if not all) of the 4-5 star hotels do not allow overnight stay of local girls. This is a measure used to curb prostitution in Vietnam.
If anyone does need to bring in a partner, perhaps you should check with the hotel first before making a reservation. |

| I heard that at the point of check in, if the girl is being checked in at the same time, it should be fine. But, generally, you're not allowed to bring girls in. |

www.maihotel.com.vn $32.00usd for the small room.
Nice clean with free breakfast.
Next to: Apocalypse Now

Normal room rate is : $200K VND per night
My friend took a bigger room : $230K VND per night very clean like the new renovated Hotel 81
Comes with free wifi every floor. the signal is good every rooms no problem with the wifi signal.
We travel by vinasun taxi from this hotel to Ben Thanh Market is about $30-$40K vnd..

|  This is just half the size of the room.. behind me is the TV hanging on the wall with very clear reception.. I watch World cup live ... hehe very sharp ... Got many channels like HBO AXN ... behind me is the toilet and on the picture left is a chair and table. I drank 2 can of Henekien , 2 bottles of mineral water and 1 bottle of green tea cost me 80K VND.. |

I used to stay in su van hanh too. A lot of karaokes ard the area. But then I realised the quality of hotels are better elsewhere... ard $200+k vnd too. |

| My friend mentioned a good hotel in D1 next to the famous Hoang Gia Huy chain.
Coincidentally, it's also called Gia Huy hotel. Has anyone heard of it? |
