| I'm thinking of selling Ba Gu Tei there....
or selling gui lin gao herbal jelly...
i'm also thinking of having a small shop for my baxa to sell clothes there.. Heard that can get cheap clothes from thailand or china or even hongkong and sell it there..
What do u think how much it cost if want to rent a small place to sell clothes ?
or having a small restaurant to sell Ba gu tei. |

Bro...
A lot depends on the type of stall you have in mind.
If it's just a roadside stall, I believe rental can be as low as 3-4mil dong a month (approx. $200)
For clothes, can I suggest that you consider opening a shop in the markets. Rental is affordable at 5mil dong/month ($400)
Again, the above prices are just gauges, depending on size, location, etc
Most of the clothes come from China, of which many China companies are currently located in Vn. You can check out An Dong market for a whole variety of wholesale goods.
Just a word of caution tho... it's not easy to do business in vn, esp if you are a foreigner. You will need protection from black/white side. |

| Imho there is still a niche market for selling singapore food in Vietnam, our local fare like chicken rice, yong tau foo, hokkien mee, laksa, curry chicken ,ba ku teh .hor fun. so far i dont find anyone selling economical rice in vietnam.or teochew porridge for supper should be able to find ready customer in Vn. There is a sizable of Sporean working in Vn.Hcmc. Rental near dist 1 around pasteur area is around USd 1400/mths. it common practice for landlord to ask for more than 3 mths deposit. sitting capacity around 25-30 customer.if you employed a Malaysia cook around 1500/mths. waitress around 1.5 million dongs. The best is you come to HCMC and try out some of the spore restaurant and compare food standard and price. do some homework before you commit. I know of one vietnamese gal who study hospitality in Spore, now she set up a restaurant selling geylang frog porridge in HCMC.She start small less than 1 year now expand to restaurant standard. |

| If anyone intends to do biz in hcm.. I could introduce you to some people.
It's always easier when you know someone in a foreign place... esp vn.
I run a small personal tour service in hcm, so if anyone can also point me to contacts in this area... it would also be much appreciated. |
