VietNamNet Bridge – The event will be held from October 1-10 throughout the country to celebrate Hanoi’s 1000th anniversary.
Director Dao Ba Son’s “Long thanh cam gia ca” will open the festival. This movie and “Vuot qua ben Thuong Hai” are the two latest movies which will be introduced for the first time at the festival.
Vietnam’s classic movies will be screened, including: “Em Be Ha Noi” (Hanoi’s Little Girl), “Hanoi 12 Ngay Dem” (Hanoi 12 Days and Nights), “Ha Noi Mua Dong Nam 46 (Hanoi in Winter 1946) and Hanoi Mua Chim Lam To (Hanoi in the Nesting Season).
The movies that were produced in the last decade will also be presented, including “Nguyen Ai Quoc in Hong Kong”, “Nhin Ra Bien Ca” (Looking to the Sea) and “Dung Dot” (Don’t Burn).
Besides feature movies, outstanding documentaries will be introduced, including: “Nhung Nguoi Cung The He” (People of the Same Generation), “Thanh Pho Tren Song Hong” (The City on the Red River), “Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam” (Temple of Literature) and “Ngoai O” (The Suburbs).
Some movies will be distributed as DVDs. Meetings between actors and the audience will be held in Hanoi, Ninh Binh and Bac Ninh. The movies will be screened not only in big cities, but also in rural areas and islands.
