I'm actually impressed with the translators ^^

I can't read Vietnamese without the diacritics because without the diacritics, the non-diacritics can mean so many different things

Maybe that is the reason why the online translation programs cannot do a proper job.

Maybe that is the reason why the online translation programs cannot do a proper job.

And also because when you combine 2 different words... they form a new word which has no relation to the other 2.

I'm a native speaker

try this sentence without diacritics
em cho anh

with diacrictics, it can be either
1. em cho (give) anh
2. em chờ (wait) anh

and we don't know whom is talk to who
1. if "anh" is the one speaking, it become "You (em), please give me..." and "You (em), please wait for me..."
2. if em is speaking, it becomes "I give you (anh)..." and "I wait for you (anh)..."

hiiii i can explain for u:
- 1st in english only has 2 pro is " u" n "i".
-2nd base on each situation.

So i am sure that i can translate correctly. Smile). i always send ms in vietnamese without diacrictics and nvr wrong meaning. lol

Vietnamese is always about context.

So if the SMS was sent in response to a particular situation, it would be possible to understand. However, I have come across tricky situations.

Mình có 1 số câu cần dịch sang tiếng anh, mình dịch thế này liệu có ổn ko?
VD:
- Tự do muôn năm --> Long live fredom!
- Cuộc sống là kì diệu --> Life is marvellous.
- Đó là do ý thức của người dân và pháp luật nên siết chặt hơn (đang nói về vi phạm luật giao thông). --> It's due to awareness of citizens and the law need tighter.
Thank for your help.

It depends on each case. " em " is used when u talk with a younger person than u, but with the older person u shd use "anh" for man and " chị" for woman.Smile

"Ban" is general, u can use "em" sound closer. its correct. Smile
